Vacation Part 9- Creation Museum Day 2

Since it was the fourth of July, we were expecting the museum to be really full, but when we got there about five minutes before the museum opened, the gates weren't even opened yet. We thought the lines would be huge, but there really weren't that many people there. We had pretty much gone through the whole museum the day before, but we hadn't gone the Dinosaur Den.

Alec liked looking at the dinosaurs.

It was really neat to see the different kinds of dinosaurs, and they can interesting information about them.

There was a guy at the museum making balloon designs for free. Out of anything he could have, Austin wanted a sword.;) Go figure. The guy made him a bigger sword and a smaller one. He told him the bigger sword was for Austin and the smaller one was for one of his brothers so he could beat them up. Austin really liked that idea!

I hate snakes, so I definitely did not want to go to this. To make matters worse, Dad made us all sit in the third to the front row! I survived.

I'm sorry this is just weird!!! Most of these snakes around his neck were corn snakes.

This python weighed 80 lbs. and was 13 ft. long!

After the snake show, we were going to go outside to eat lunch and look at the stuff out there, but it was raining. We hung out in the bookstore for a while, but it was still raining. We decided to just go outside and eat in one of the pavillions. Thankfully, the museums had umbrellas you could use because we didn't know it was supposed to rain.

Outside, there is a botanical garden and a petting zoo. It was really a bummer that it rained the whole because we really didn't get to see everything. The petting zoo was kinda gross in the rain! We weren't able to get any pics of the zoo.

When we weren't watching, Alec walked out into the rain and was going to stomp in a mud puddle just as Mom caught him. ;)

Because of the rain, the fireworks were cancelled. That was a huge bummer because I love fireworks. It doesn't seem like the fourth of July without them.

This how we spent fourth of July night- in the tents out of the rain.

We got out snacks and looked at all the pics from the week. It was kind of a dreary fourth, but we had fun anyway.

Vacation Part 8: Creation Museum Day 1

We arrived at the Creation Museum at about 9:45, and the museum opened at 10:00. When we got there, the parking lot was already almost full! Once inside the museum, there was a HUGE line to wait in. We were in a really slow moving line going through the first part of the museum, but after we got to the six days of creation exhibit, the rooms were definitely less crowded. We had tickets to go to the planetarium at 11:00, so we browsed through the bookstore while we waited.

We went to the planetarium which was very neat, and then we got in line to go into the actual museum rooms.

When you first walk into the museum, this is what you see.

The theme throughout the whole museum was the 7 Cs of history: creation, corruption, catastrophe, confusion, Christ, cross, and consummation. This shows the progression of history from a Biblical perspective.

We have God's Word today.

The next part showed the results of casting out God's absolute truth and letting man decide what is right for him.

I don't if you can read what it says on the wall, so here is what it says: "As dark as things appear, God's Word gives us the foundation to rebuild. The place to start is......at the beginning six thousand years ago."

We then moved into the six days of creation room.

Adam names the animals.

Eve is created.

Adam and Eve enjoy the Garden of Eden with....

Adam and Eve sinned, and a lamb was slain to cover their sin.

The next room had an animatronic dinosaur as well which moved and opened its mouth. It must have pretty lifelike to Austin because he would not go near it and thought it was real! ;) Notice how Alec and Austin are both staring while everyone else is looking at the camera. ;)

Its head was pretty scary looking.

This is what Alec thought of it. He would stare at it for a few seconds and then start bawling. He kept his eye on it the whole time we were in the room.

Methusaleh talked about his grandson Noah building the ark.

The next room was a neat replica of the building of the ark.

There were computers in the ark room where you could do puzzles.

We then saw the confusion C of history with the building of the tower of Babel.

The last room dealt with Christ, cross,and consummation.

Dad waiting for lunch. We ordered from the Lakeside Grill at the museum, and it took about 30 minutes for us to get our food.

Austin liked to feed the fish in the pond. There were a lot of them!

The last thing we did at the museum on Friday was a Caribbean Adventure. We had an awesome time at the museum the first day.
